Dr. David Kirkpatrick is the Men's Prayer Breakfast Speaker on November 21, 2015

Dr. David A. Kirkpatrick, Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology in the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering at Prairie View A&M University is the speaker for the  Men’s Prayer Breakfast on November 21, 2015. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, 204 Dooley Street.
 
Kirkpatrick is a native of Chicago and moved to Texas when he enrolled in Prairie View Agriculture and Mechanical College to pursue the Bachelor’s degree and play on the Football team. 

Dr. Kirkpatrick holds the Bachelors in Industrial Education and Technology from Prairie View A&M University, the Masters in Computer Engineering Technology from Kansas State College and the PH.D. Computer Engineering and Educational Technology from Purdue University.

His employment history include serving as and Electronics Subsystem Design Engineer for IBM, Microwave Engineer, Airborne Instrument Laboratory, Computer Analysis Engineer, HP (DEC), and Microcomputer Technical Division, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. 

He began his teaching career at Prairie View A&M University in 1968 in the College of Industrial Education and Technology as an instructor.  Dr. Kirkpatrick teaches courses in Direct Current Circuits, Basic Electronics, Computer Application to Electrical Problems, Robotics and Operational Amplifier Theory and Applications. In addition to his teaching, Dr. Kirkpatrick has conducted several research projects in Computer and Electrical Engineering Technology Curriculum Assessment, OASIS Signal Analysis Research and Automated Storage Handling and Retrieval System-Funded through ANRCP, to name a few.

Dr. Kirkpatrick holds or has held membership in several civic and social organizations to include the Prairie View Athletic Club and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  He also served on the Waller ISD Board of Trustees from 1996-2011 as the Secretary, Vice-President, and President of the Board. 

Among his many awards and honors are “Best Department Instructor” Prairie View A&M University College of Engineering Technology, Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Award, Teaching Excellence Award, NISOD International Association, Distinguished Service to Higher Education Award at Prairie View A&M University and the Engineering Technology Teaching Faculty Award

Dr. Kirkpatrick and his wife, Loraine, are the parents of two sons and two daughters.
