ministry from the age of 13, accepted Jesus Christ as my savior at the
age of 16, and was baptized at the age of 17. He and his wife Sylvia
moved to the United States in 1976 to attend Prairie View A&M
University.
For the past 20 years he has been employed with the City of Houston as a
Public Health Investigator. His role in the public health department
opened his eyes and ears to people with emotional needs and various
kinds of harmful and recurring addictions that only the power of God
could heal. As a result he and his wife are co-founders of the Joy
Prison Ministry, servicing 2 prisons (Jester3 in Richmond and Pam
Lychner in Atascocita) and the River of Life Evangelistic Outreach.
For the past ten years, he has served as a pastor of two ministries in
Columbus. His religious affiliations include memberships with the
Church of The Nazarene, the Christian Brethren Church, Full Gospel
Church, Church Of God In Christ, United Methodist, Assembly of God,
Southern Baptist, some non-denominational churches. He and his wife
have also worked with other churches and ministries including Youth for
Christ, Youth with a Mission, Lutheran, AME, Apostolic, Adventists,
Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian and Elim churches. They are not “church
hoppers”, but they look beyond denominational boundaries and offer
their services to churches and ministries that are in need of such.
In addition to his preaching and teaching the word of God, Reverend
James has produced a Christian music album (O What A Feeling) and have
authored 2 books (12 Never-mentioned Steps to Discipleship and Love is
the True Foundation of the Gospel) based on our myriad of experiences in
the ministry coupled with a clearer understand of the word of God.
James holds the Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Prairie
View A&M University and the Biblical Ministry degree from Midwest
Full Gospel Bible Institute and he is an ordained Minister of the Gospel
by the Full Gospel Evangelistic Association.

Jr., Gloria and Justine, who are all professionals in their own right.

St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church had its beginning in 1939 when a group of Episcopal Church members at Prairie View A. & M. College met and decided to start an Episcopal congregation in Prairie View. Miss Maude Ernestine Suarez, Dean of Women led the group in starting a chaplaincy and congregation. In 1950 St. Francis of Assisi Mission Congregation was born, with Reverend James Murray as Vicar. In 1991 St. Francis of Assisi became a Parish with Rev. Earlie Clemens, Sr. as Rector.
